30

This year I am 30.

To commemorate the occasion, I decided that this year I would take a photo each day and at the end of the year I will combine them all into a book.   It's the first year that I've done a 365 project and so far it's going well - today is day 63!

My birthday this year was interesting...  probably my least birthday-like birthday ever.  There was no cake, no candle, no decorations, or present opening, although I did get the opportunity to go shopping with my mother-in-law and grandma-in-law for some new clothes!  The highlight of the birthday though, was when Gage took me to Minneapolis for a couple days!  This was my first time being away from Avery for more than a few hours since she was born.  It had been well over two years since I had been able to go somewhere and be kid-less for a day.  It was fun but very strange!

We walked around nearby the hotel (The Marquette), found a great place to eat (8th St. Grill), and hung out in the hotel room watching TV, doing a puzzle (my new-found love), eating junk food (cheese puffs), and ordered room service for the first time - some super expensive tiramisu.  :-) The next day we went to the Mall of America.  I finally used a $100 gift card for Vera Bradley that Gage bought me a year ago, and I found Avery an adorable birthday dress at the Disney Store.

It was a fun trip and I'm looking forward to similar trips in the future.  I am fairly certain I left a case with a memory card in it there in the hotel though.... that contained many of our Disneyland and CA pictures from December.  :(

This year I also decided enough was enough and I am determined to get down to a reasonable weight. I joined Weight Watchers on January 20th and so far I have lost 10 lbs!  I haven't been exercising much so that's my next goal this month, to get on my treadmill at least 3 times a week and perhaps start doing a DVD workout of some kinds as well.

It's my intention to keep updating this blog as I go through the process of losing weight... hopefully that will serve as some extra incentive for me to stay on track!  We'll see though, I don't exactly have the best track record with this blog.  ;-)

What is the purpose of education? I believe the sole purpose of all education is to know God and make Him known.  Proverbs 1:7 says that...
